Important information on the obligation to affiliate with an ombudsman’s office. The State Secretariat for International Finance SIF communicated on 9.11.2020 that only those financial service providers who provide financial services to private clients will have to join an ombudsman’s office.

It is important in this context that private clients who are no longer classified as private clients due to an opting-out continue to count as private clients for the purposes of the obligation to affiliate to an ombudsman’s office.
